Dear Bunker Families,

It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself to you as the principal of Berkeley L. Bunker Elementary School. Having worked as an administrator at Brinley Middle School for the past three years, I am thrilled to be able to continue to serve this community. Our school is committed to our new designation as a Governor’s

Developing STEM School and we will continue to work hard to ensure all students receive high quality instruction with a focus on science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics.

I have worked in schools in California, Colorado and Nevada as an instructional aide, teacher and administrator. I have worked in the Clark County School District since 2003 and have been a parent of CCSD students since 2007. My own children are a huge source of pride and inspiration and when I am not working, I spend as much time with them as possible.

I look forward to getting to meet many of you at our “Meet and Greet” on August 5th from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. You and your child will be able to meet their teacher and see their classroom at that time also. Our offices reopen on Wednesday, July 20th and our hours are from 6:45am to 3:15pm. Stop in anytime or call us at (702) 799-3420 if you need anything. We work as a team as we grow students’ minds, hearts and bodies. We are here to support you in your hopes and dreams for your child.

Ms. Susan L. Johnson (Principal)

Hello Bunker Families!

Welcome to the new 2023 - 2024 school year! My name is Dr. Courtney Sims, and I am proud to be your new Assistant Principal!  This is going to be an amazing year! I am excited to work with all of you to make our school the best it can be.  We are a Governor’s Developing STEM School, which is a very distinctive honor.  We will continue to ensure that our students receive the best

education possible focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

I graduated with my doctorate from Grand Canyon University in 2020.  I have worked in education for the past 12 years covering grades K - 8 in both Charter schools and CCSD.  Nevada is where I call home, but I am originally from Virginia.  I have four beautiful children and my spouse is very supportive.  We spend as much time in nature camping as we possibly can.

I am looking forward to this school year as we work together to bring the best out of our students.  Together we will make great things happen!  If you have any questions, please contact me. Our school number is 702-799-3420 or you can send me an email at
