Safe Routes to School

SRTS Annual Kick-Off
Every year, the Safe Routes To School (SRTS) team welcomes our staff back at a kick-off event filled with important information on implementing the SRTS programs in their schools. This year thirty-eight schools attended the SRTS Kick-Off, where vital information about the program was conveyed to all participants. Dr. Sims attended this event and immediately started making changes for student safety here at Bunker ES.

A parent survey was sent out to identify how students were coming to and from school.

Bunker ES participated in the Walk-Bike-Roll to School campaign to promote the importance of walking and rolling safely and healthy habits.

Those students who could not meet at the park, walked the field at school to show their support!

The “Walk-Bike-Roll” SRTS Bulletin Board includes signs students made as they walked to school. Students wrote their names on cut-outs to show if they walked or rolled to school that day.
Rocket Rules: Sense of Safety and Beyond!
In collaboration with CCSD Police Department, SRTS has implemented a new and exciting interactive safety presentation for our kindergarten through second-grade audience. The Rocket Rules program teaches emergency preparedness, safety awareness, and social-emotional skills to children.

Bunker ES participates in SRTS banner campaigns to ensure every driver in Clark County is practicing safe driving skills in school zones.

With continued support from SRTS, CCSD Police, LVMPD, Staff, Students, and Parents, we will continue to strive for consistent safety for all. Let’s always remember, SAFETY FIRST! We look forward to having many brighter, safer school years! Go Broncos!
